BLACK AND GREY HI-POWERS
These Browning Hi-Powers were built within a few months of each other. The black pistol was customized for a gentleman I used to train with. The grey P-35 was built for, and donated to, The Mainville Sportsman Club, for it’s 50th Anniversary.
Both pistols exhibit very similar features, which have helped create a signature style for my defensive carry pistols.
Slide Features:
- Top strap serrated 40 LPI – Single point machined
- Rear of slide serrated 40 LPI – Hand filed
- Muzzle serrated 30 LPI – Single point machined to aid in one hand manipulation
- Rear sight face contoured and serrated for one hand manipulation
- 10k gold front sight insert
- Slide rails machine chamfered 30 degrees
- All sharp edges broken
Frame Work:
- Factory FN spur hammer trimmed, rounded, serrated and undercut
- Magazine well machine beveled
- Frame scribed and blended to match grip contour
- Front strap and heel hand stippled (Swenson style)
- Thumb safety heavily contoured and blended
- Slide stop contoured and blended
- All sharp edges broken
Parts Fitting and Reliability Enhancements:
- New trigger fitted and adjusted for minimum take-up and over-travel
- Vertical trigger bar polished
- Sear lever contacts polished
- Sear spring relieved, adjusted and polished
- Sear fitted and stoned
- Thumb safety fitted to sear
- Feed ramp polished
- Barrel crowned and polished
Finish:
- Custom Cerakote with extra hardener, cured at higher temperatures

Both pistols were tested for reliability, with various ammuntion and magazines, and their sights were regulated to impact 1″ high at 25 yards.
